Tonight Robert Goetz and I worked on fleshing out the poetry score to Les Murray's Sydney Highrise Variations, which involves dozens of different things.
At least one of those things came clearer into focus tonight. One of things, we discovered, is you have to block the poem the way a good director blocks a play: you need to tell the words where to stand.
Tonight we told the words where to stand. We told the words where to stand in our songs.
